Swallowed By Hole come to you from Lisbon, Portugal, and were idealized in 2007 by brothers Ricardo (drums) and Hugo (guitar) Gervaia from the ashes of a previous project. They decided it was time to create a new sound that came to life when Lourenço “Jiné” (bass) and Gonçalo “Pardalão” (guitar) joined them.
In the beginning of 2008, with already a few songs written, the band felt the need to add a voice to the project and that’s when Isi (vocals) came along. Soon, they recorded a demo version of the song “Puppets of Hate” and where invited to play at the “Hostile Union Fest” with My Deception.
Lourenço “Jiné” left the project due to incompatible attitudes but that strengthened SBH’s willpower to follow their path.
Manteigas (bass) joined and the band gained the consistency and stability necessary to take the next step. New songs were written almost immediately and the band played 2 more shows with Green Grass Riddle and Sordid Sight.
In August 2008, the band starts to record the first EP (due to release in 2009) and recorded a “Live Session” in October 2008 at Estúdio Q, produced by Tiago Abreu. The session had the participation of Rizzo (vocals) from Utopium.

The band – ON A PLAIN - was born in September 2002 with Dani, Vitor, Rita and John (later replaced by Rui). They started the project as “Seeker” and presented themselves in numerous concerts, festivals and competitions. The good receptivity of these gigs projected them to the main stage as guests of some of the biggest national bands and musicians, such as Pedro Abrunhosa, Xutos e Pontapés and Fingertips – also from Viseu.

Gabriel, Sales and Ana teamed up with the band in 2006, and so they decided to change the name of the band. ON A PLAIN was now born. The band consolidated its music and in March 2007 recorded their debut EP, "Special". The four tracks were recorded in the “Metro Music” Studios, with Hélder Matos as a producer.

The good receptivity by the critics and the public, led to the production of the video for their most successful track. The single "Little Child" was produced by “Takemedia” and was conceived by all of the band members. The band also won the award for Best New Act, by the “Animarte” magazine.

The rise of ON A PLAIN led to the release of their first record in October 2008, with Rewind Music. "READ MY LIPS" presents the best work of this rock band and adds a series of technological innovations in its design and presentation to the public. This record has a multimedia track with photos, music and lyrics, video clips and the ON THE PLAIN biography. You can also access to other contents by introducing a secret password that is hidden on the multimedia aplication.

The cardial Death fucking Metal Art entity In Tha Umbra was spawn year 1996 in Algarve, Portugal. In Tha Umbra comprises of BKD. - guitarz and vocalz, Bruno Miguel Bernardo - guitarz and clean vocalz, João Marques - drumz et cymbalz, and has three full lenght albums; "Descend Supreme Sunset" [ 1998 Art Music ], "Midnight In The Garden Of Hell" [ 2000 Hibernia ] and "Nigrium Nigrius Nigro" [ 2005 Agonia ].

The sound of In Tha Umbra is an obscure Death Metal that sometimes reaches the borders of Black Metal, altough limitations get flaw, as In Tha Umbra also has in it's sound references to 70's progressive rock, traditional Heavy Metal or Thrash Metal. In a sense of equilibrium, In Tha Umbra manages to create a sound of it's own that gets to be both agressive and calm, technical and simple, sophisticated and raw - 666% Death fucking Metal!!!

Two years ago, 4 kids (Nuno-vocals, Gonçalo-drums, Dani-bass, Renato-guitar) started a band, maybe because their lifes were just too boring and their minds needed some distraction. Soon the will to create something that would not sound like an ordinary garage band stood up to be the primary goal. Described by a friend as King Crimson on steroids, the sound reveals a chaotic vision constructed and ordered in a progressive way, which turns each song into an endless journey of different scenarios. Monogonos main influences are King Crimson, Meshuggah. Amuk, the debut album, was recorded in The Edge studios (Aires, Portugal), produced by Alessandro Devillart, Duarte Carvalho, Ivo Conceição and assisted by Vitor Guerreiro. Amuk is the first open window into the world of Monogono, yet just a glimpse of what the future may bring.

- The Early Daze -

It all begun with Luis Goulão. As a youngster, he used to dream with having a metal band and playing all around the world. Bands like IRON MAIDEN and W.A.S.P. turn on his passion for playing guitar. And so it begun in 1991. After some bands, and a 2 year period aside from the metal world, Luis decided to come back and finally formed the project of his life SHADOWSPHERE. Along with some friends the project gained wings to fly. Hugo (guitar), Fernando (bass) and Nuno (drums) were the first line-up to meet up with Luis (guitar & vocals) back in October 2000. Mainly influenced by Thrash Metal from the 80s, Swedish Death Metal and some traditional Metal, SHADOWSPHERE arrived!!!!

- What Dreams May Come -

Andre Silva replaced Nuno in early 2000. This was the formation that recorded the track Lusitania included in the tribute to Tarantula 20 years career released in 2001 by Recital. During the year of 2001, the band performs some concerts and prepares the edition of a promo-CD to be released by the end of that year. In the meantime, in September, Fernando is replaced by Pedro Vieira, and immediately the band records a set of 4 tracks to be released under the name of Death and Dreaming, in October. These tracks were recorded in the Floyd Studios under the guidance and production of Nuno Loureiro (Painstruck), who had already produced the Tarantula track in the same studio. In spite of the very positive reviews, the band decides to delay the edition of Death and Dreaming.

By June 2002, Paulo Goncalves replaces Luis only in the lead vocals. Although this was regarded as a breath of fresh air to the sound of the band, Paulos entry did not set aside the stigma of change and Pedro is replaced in September by Rui Neves. With the formation properly reviewed, the band then decides to record another song and edit the opening EP Death and Dreaming. Once again they record in the Floyd Studios with Nuno Loureiro and the release takes place on October 26th in FNAC Chiado, Lisbon, in front of over 100 people (an almost unheard-of feat in Forum Chiado...).

One year later, the band suffers another line-up change and the band had to quickly recruit another guitarist, Filipe Sousa, to replace Hugo Fernandes. Still the band decides to enter the Floyd Estudios as a quartet, in September 2003, in order to record their first album, entitled DarkLands. The production was once again in charge of Nuno Loureiro and the release was in January 2004.

Due to DarkLands, the band started a series of gigs of promotion, which lead them to about 40 gigs in 2004/2005 supporting Moonspell, Desire, Temple, Icon The Black Roses, ThanatoSchizo, Decapitated, Primordial, Nightrage, etc Reviews from all over the world compared SHADOWSPHERE to the talents of SOILWORK, AT THE GATES and IN FLAMES.

And then came the time for another release. Joining Nuno Loureiro in October 2005, the guys recorded the forthcoming work and had it mixed and mastered in Sweden by Dan Swano, who did a great work, helping the creation of SHADOWSPHERE..s own sound. And so, after a few delays, Hellbound Heart saw the light of day in May 23rd 2006. A short time after, Filipe leaves the band. The Shadows started the Hellbound Tour 2006 opening for DISMEMBER, playing all around Portugal, and ending the tour opening for MALEVOLENT CREATION and ROTTING CHRIST. A short time after, Andre leaves the band.

By now, SHADOWSPHERE are rehearsing with the new drummer to be, and preaparing to start composing the new album due to release somewhere around 2009.

PAINSTRUCK

Painstruck was born in August of 1997. Arising from a very assorted musical scene, the band played under the name of Breed-Machine until changing completely their musical structure. As founding members were Nuno Loureiro (Lead Guitar and Vocals) , Paulo Lafaia (Drums). The Band is now complete with Raul Vicente (Bass) and João Silva (Guitar). They immediately started working in a group of songs that would succeed in describing ideals and emotions. Played some gigs, and in the last two weeks of December the first, homonym and single demo-tape ever was recorded, released in 1998 and produced by Nuno Loureiro, in Painstruck..s rehearsal room. 1999 started very well. various gigs took place and at one point in April, was the time for "Aggressive Ways to Pacify" to take form through the hands of Luis Barros in his Rec'N'Roll studios. Then came the signing of a record deal with Portuguese Paranoid Records. "Aggressive ways to pacify" was , of course, the first, and the launch party achieved epic proportions when the band played a set of two-and-a-half hours of their own originals plus twenty-one metal classics from Cannibal Corpse, Wasp, C.O.C., Pantera, Crowbar, Black Sabbath, etc... and inviting several other guests to perform alongside of them. All of this was a first in Portuguese lands! They toured Portugal extensively. While doing it also managed to play in Vigo (Spain) and an amazing two date set with the Biohazard! On the summer of 2002 an invitation was received to play on Portugal's heaviest summer festival, Ermal, in the same day as names like Slipknot and Dimmu Borgir, John Spencer blues explosion,, etc. That year, the album recorded sales in Portugal that toped all other Portuguese bands At the time, the second album which was produced on Floyd Studios in Lisbon by Nuno Loureiro in March of 2002, was already finished to be released in October. "A Whole new perception" was out one year from the release of the first CD, and it wasn't easy for the band with a busy schedule to write it. But it came out with all the ideas in place, powerful, aggressive and bursting with emotion. Painstruck..s masterpiece to aggression. And what better way to show everyone the well oiled engine Painstruck is than a two night set with Stone Sour! A friend of the band captured the scenes and compiled the footage in a video for “In us you live”. The video played on through an entire year in “Sol Musica” TV station. They also had the honour to be the first band to be invited to the 2003 and 2005's Ermal edition with the likes of Morbid Angel, Entombed Clawfinger, Unleashed, etc.. Also managed to play as support act for Born From Pain. Since the Band’s fans are their prime concern, on the 25th of December 2004 a new single “Foaming at the mouth” was put on the Band’s site www.Painstruck.net for download. Of course, this single is a preview for an upcoming album. The “Foaming at the mouth tour” 30 shows took the Portuguese fury to a new height of expectation, also landing a three videos shoot for SMS tv show aired in Portuguese television. During the course of 2005 and along the several concerts the Band has tested a group of news songs and the response was beyond expectation! Early in 2006 Painstruck opened for metal giants Testament to a packed audience having mega reviews from fans and media alike. After that, headlined two big “Altatensão” festivals. The new “The Scalpel E.P.”, released on the 23rd of June was the Bands return to the releases and set the pace for the new album soon to follow. The E.P. is also a tribute to the fans, old and new, that have supported Painstruck throughout the years and keep going strong. It is filled with exclusive content as well as the Bands site. The Band is already recording the much anticipated third Album, meanwhile an opening slot supporting Sepultura lent a great opening for the year 2007. Napalm Death on the 9th of May was also a great surprise, but the icing on the cake was a 5 day mini tour supporting Germany..s Caliban and Finish friends Omnium Gatherum bettween the 6th and 10th of June. In December of 2007 the current myspace page became the only official page and is already full of exclusive content, just check the never before released versions of Pantera's "Strength beyond strength" and of the video "Tons of chances" taken from the album "A whole new perception". Also, the Band begun posting the hundreds of pictures taken by friends, coleagues and fans they encounter on the road and are so kind to e-mail the pictures taken. With so much going on it proved dificult to complete the albums recordings in 2007, so the release date was pushed back to 2008. "Hell's wrath in God's fury" is being recorded in In/Out studios Portugal. Stay tuned on this well oiled machine, every show is a celebration and a credit to Metal.

HEAVENWOOD

Heavenwood was originally formed as a death metal band under the monicker Disgorged in 1992. In 1995 tragedy struck the band as their current bass player committed suicide. They signed a record deal with the German label Massacre Records and their name changed to Heavenwood and released two albums.

"Diva" was promoted with two European tours, the first in the end of 1996 with Atrocity and In Flames and the second one in the spring of 1997 together with Theatre Of Tragedy and Lake Of Tears. They also played with bands such as Cradle Of Filth and Moonspell between others in their home country. In 1997 DIVA was released in the Japanese market through MARQUEE BELLE EPOQUE Records with some extras.

Their second album "Swallow" released in 1998 features guest appearances from Theatre Of Tragedy's female vocalist Liv Kristine and Gamma Ray's mastermind Kai Hansen. 1998 was the year for the first Portugese Metal act on the famous WACKEN OPEN AIR FESTIVAL playing for a full WET STAGE with fans from all over the world followed by more European Tours with bands such as Atrocity, Solitude Aeturnus, Saviour Machine and more. HEAVENWOOD would be considered Band sensation in many important Metal Magazines such as METAL HAMMER, ROCK HARD and a 4 in 5 in TERRORIZER Magazine was " a gift " for the Portugese newcomers effort in the music scene.

Heavenwood were frozen from 2001 to 2003 due to some internal problems. After several line-up changes Bruno Silva turned into the second Guitar-player. October 2003 was the Official Return Show for HEAVENWOOD on the most important Live Rock Club in Portugal with a fullhouse night where almost 1000 people received the band with open harms followed by many gigs in Portugal and Spain.

HEAVENWOOD 3rd album was frozen regarding a more dark-rock influence crashing with the interests of their label.

February 2007 was the year choosen by Ricardo Dias, Bruno Silva and Ernesto Guerra to record some preview songs. Take my hand, Fragile, From dust to dust, Red Harvest, The sun burns red, Forthcoming hate, Slumber, Abyss masterpiece, 2012 a.c. were some of the new HEAVENWOOD tracks recorded in Studio 213 as a Advance Promo Cd. HEAVENWOOD played in two Portuguese Fests in 2007 presenting session musicians to complete " The wood legacy " with Luiz Ferreira (drums) and Hugo Pires (bass).

HEAVENWOOD Symbol was developed by Polish artist Wojtek Blasiak who designed MOONSPELL, VADER and many other bands Artwork. JMELLO Design from Brasil is the responsible for the official Myspace from HEAVENWOOD.

HEAVENWOOD has set "Redemption" as the title of its third album, due in September 2008 via Recital Records (label that signed with them a record deal on last December). The group has tapped Jens Bogren (OPETH, SOILWORK, AMON AMARTH) who mixed and mastered the effort on the last April at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden. The initial recording sessions for the CD took place at Ultrasound Studios with Daniel Cardoso and Ricardo Dias.

HEAVENWOOD's forthcoming album will feature guest appearances by singer Tijs Vanneste of the Belgian progressive metallers OCEANS OF SADNESS, Firewind's Gus G and the unique Jeff Waters of Annihilator.

1998
The project is born. One will: to create something unique. The band starts composing some songs and playing all over Portugal. A first "domestic" demo was recorded.
1999
The self-financed EP Melégnia is released. With a different vocalist and bass player, this was a very strange disc that mixed various influences. The international and national press made great critics and, by the end of the year, a Portuguese radio contest (won by Emperor’s Prometheus) considered this EP the ninth best worldwide releases. ThanatoSchizO was placed ahead bands such as Immortal, Dimmu Borgir and Primordial. The Melégnia Tour covered 60 dates, in which ThanatoSchizO played side by side with bands such as Sinister, Asgaroth, Pandemia, Purgatory, Tarantula, Sirius, Clawfinger, Malevolence and Aborted. The band’s performance got wonderful reviews and the strange/theatrical ways and true feeling were widely praised.
2000
The Melégnia Tour proceeded while the band was working hard on the composition
of the first full-length.
2001
schizo level’s release, the first album, through Portuguese label Misdeed Records. A very, very chaotic album that resumes so different areas such as black, death, doom, thrash metal and even progressive rock. The majority of the reviews were very good and this album contains two of the band’s anthems, frequently and heavily requested at live gigs: the ultra dynamic and aggressive Suturn and the very "doomish" peaceful song Nightmares Within. Later this year, the album got the fifth place on a contest by the previously mentioned radio show. The number of fans was clearly growing, especially due to the great live efforts and the huge promotion on the web.
2002
Some gigs to promote the album and a quiet isolation in the rehearsal room, so that the band could create new songs. Signing of the contract with British label Rage of Achilles Records.
2003
Release of the "doomish" InsomniousNightLift album through British Rage of Achilles Records. A very dramatic trip around the epic and progressive music path, which conquered some new fans without abandoning the more aggressive section of the audience. The mixing of different styles gave room to a more simplistic model of death/doom progressive metal. This release was widely praised by international media. Some magazines such as Metal Hammer and Kerrang! rated 4 stars out of 5 possible and, in Portugal, publications like Rock Sound or LOUD! placed this release in the top 3 of the year, as well as mentioning Filipe Miguel (keyboard player) and Miguel Ângelo (bass player) in the top 10 of the best Portuguese musicians of the year. ThanatoSchizO’s intense work created the opportunity to become the support act for Katatonia and Finntroll’s gig in Portugal (Barroselas), in April.
2004
Pre-release of the third album Turbulence through Misdeed Records in Portugal. ThanatoSchizO ascendant popularity lead to another year full of live gigs (including one semi-acoustic performance at Fnac), and the global reaction to the album was very enthusiastic. By listening to this new record, one can perceive the crescent maturity of the group and the intense professional studio production of the album. The year ended with ThanatoSchizO being voted on a reader's poll from the Portuguese magazine LOUD! as the second 2004 best national band (right after the well-known Moonspell) and Turbulence being voted as the best Portuguese album of the year. Moreover, in the journalist’s poll, Turbulence was mentioned by 4/6 of
the members in the 2004 national top 5 and Guilhermino (guitar player)
was elected the third best musician in 2004.
2005
Following the abrupt end of Rage of Achilles, ThanatoSchizO signed a contract deal with Australia's Burning Elf Records for the international release of the Turbulence album. Meanwhile, the band continued the live promotion of that record in Portugal by headlining some gigs, being on the roster of Alta Tensão (itinerant) Festival, organizing the 3rd Liperske Festival and opening for Swedish band Nightrage at Outubro Negro Festival (Lisbon). By the end of the year, the band is back to its lore, focusing on the
composition of new material for an upcoming album.
2006
The group has began the pre-production of five new songs for their as-yet-untitled fourth album, tentatively due next summer. The pre-production recordings will take place at Wagner Studios in Chaves, Portugal (drums) and in the band's own Blind & Lost Studios.
2007
ThanatoSchizO recorded Zoom Code at Rec'n'Roll Studios (Portugal). The masterization process was held by Tommy Newton at Area 51 Studios (Germany). Moreover, the group signed an exclusive deal with Mexican label Sun Empire Productions for the re-released of the first album Schizo Level with a new front cover. The group has also supported Orphaned Land and Samael’s Portuguese tours, thus making a break from the studio sessions in July. In other news, Gauchos de Acero – the Argentinean group aged between 10 and 14 that became famous through YouTube, due to their Sepultura and Iron Maiden covers – made an interesting interpretation of the song Suturn from ThanatoSchizO’s first album Schizo Level.

THE LAST OF THEM

The current line-up is formed mainly by former members of bands like; Sonic Flower, Downthroat and In Dementia.
The year 2007 was spent mainly on the recordings of the debut ep "slow motion chaos" in Covil studios in Águeda, Portugal.
The production was initially made by Luis Sousa and ensured and subsequently completed by Hugo Pereira.
Finalized the production process, in January 2008 the ep is finally self-released.
The initial line-up had Filipe Van Zeller in the bass and Hugo in synthesizers, passing it to participate only as a guest in studio and Filipe was replaced by Rui Pereira.
The band is currently in the process of promoting the EP and already began operating live from north to south of the country.
The THE LAST OF THEM also received an invitation from the American producer Fearwerx to include the track "New Addiction" in the end credits of the online series "War Of The Dead ZERO"

Thirteen Degrees To Chaos were formed in 2005, being some of the band members the remains from an early project. After a few line up changes, in 2006 the core of Thirteen Degrees To Chaos was formed, and subsequently their music style changed. In the beginning of 2007 they gave their first show and have been playing since then. They recorded their first Demo in the middle of 2008, which has already been released on-line.

SOLID SPECTRUM

Solid Spectrum, originally formed as a band of grunge in the middle 2007. Counted ed originally with Ricardo Silva (ex. Hellish) - Bass, João Ribeiro (Mordred Project, ex. Hellbolt,) and Jose Lima - Guitars, later Liliana - Drums. After some rehearsals playing covers, it was well-known that Grunge was not the intended one. Late of October the band was reborn. Ricardo Silva leads the drums and João Ribeiro changes from 6 to 4 strings. Roberto Pereira is then invited for being the soloist guitarman, getting since soon into the main composer of the band. Solid Spectrum changes now into a band of Thrash. November of the same year, with some written wook already, enters Márcio Pinto, becomes the vocalist and frontaman,. Emanuel Machado (ex-Hellish), that in a earlier time supported the band as producer, is choosed as backing vocals, but after two months of rehearsals the band unanimously decided that only a single vocalist would make sense for kind of music, therefore Márcio Pinto Became the only and lead singer. After months of work, at the 11th May 2008, The very first show was done at Junta de Freguesia de Tabuaças (Vieira do Minho), and it had a family enviornment. The 17th of the same month, happens the second and first gig with real show label, realized at Improviso Bar, in Espinho. More gigs were taking place, in particular Vieira Rock 08 phase levels, where they had gotten full house, with about 200 people, in a little place but with warm atmosphere, ending with very positive feedback from the crowd and other inner bands. Solid Spectrum had the chance to share stage with bands like Assassinner, Mind Effect, Shamans of Rock, Fairy Dreams, Studio Hunters among others. Currently they are recording their EP, with the producer Sergio Ferreira (Hunted Scriptum – Guitarist). The realease date is foreseen for early November.

Skypho is a Portuguese metal band which is mostly influenced by modern metal and tribal beats combining and mixing these styles in a unique and characteristic way.

Last year Skypho released a 5 tracks E.P., entitled “Nowhere Neverland”, recorded at IM Studios, in Oporto.

The band try to include in their music elements from different styles as the use of percussions suggests, but listening to the E.P. will definitely give you a much better overall idea of our sound.

Skypho as played with several important portuguese bands over the last years such as Moonspell, Primitive Reason, Blasted Mechanism, Anger, Eternal Tango, and many others from the portuguese metal scene and non metal scene, along over 100 concerts through Portugal and a couple of shows at Dublin, Ireland.

Skypho has participated in a lot of band contests and win some.

EAK (Extraterrestrial Alternative Knowledge) was formed back in October 2001, but the lack of a proper rehearsal place saw the band members quickly putting the project on hold. After five years they got together again just for old times’ sake, but the chemistry spreading out of that gathering lead to a musical evolution that needed exposure to the outside world. After constant rehearsals and gigs, they finally found a solid line-up – Jorge and Carlos on guitars, Helder on bass, Ricardo on drums and Paulo on vocals – and managed to record two EPs. «3 Steps To Nothing» (2003) and «Musclecore» (2006), which got a huge reaction from both the audience and the press. Lisbon's SIMBIOSE first steps go back to 1991, when - influenced by the sounds of Discharge, Extreme Noise Terror and Doom - a small bunch of friends started writing their own songs. The debut show finally takes place two years later and leads to the recording of their first demo, «Até Quando».

In the following years, facing countless line-up changes and economical struggles, SIMBIOSE manages to establish it's name internationally through an impressive amount of DIY releases - among others a split with Croustibat, the first portuguese punk/hardcore/crust 10" ever - and a ton of live shows. At the turn of the century the band finally starts working on their debut full-length album.

«Mental Naked Violence» is released in 2002, quickly followed by a split EP with Barcelona's Disface - both records are fully embraced by the punk/hardcore/metal/crust crowd. Another year goes by and a new CD, «Bounded in Adversity», is recorded and followed by a mini-tour in Holland and Belgium. In 2005 the group plays more than 200 shows, records a cover of «Ghouls Night Out» for a Misfits tribute record and releases a split CD with brazilian band Taiko. Another split CD - this time with swedish crust kings Driller Killer - follows, as well as a mini-tour through Spain, Holland and Belgium.

2007 sees the group establishing a new line-up - vocalists Hugo and João, guitarist Nuno and drummer Luís are now joined by Dr. Bifes and Paulo, on bass and guitar, respectively - and the assembling of a new record. Recorded by João Pedro Sarrufo at the Crossover Studios - with guest appearances by Dean Jones (Extreme Noise Terror) and João "Gordo" (Ratos De Porão) - the 10 songs on «Evolution?» show the band's growth through their 15+ career, fusing their d-beat roots with a new-found love for thrashy rhythms and even more dynamic structures. Call it what you will, but SIMBIOSE stands for uncompromising extreme music with a strong socio-political conscience.

The roots of [Before The Rain] go back to 1997, when vocalist Carlos D'Água and guitar player Valter Cunha started sharing musical ideas that eventually ended up as acoustic songs. As time went by, those simple and organic sounds weren't enough to express the emotions and feelings unleashed by the duo and, in 1998, both decided to seek musicians to complete the band.

In December 2001, after solidifying their first real line-up, their first two songs - «Be Mine» and «You... My Ruin» - were recorded. Entitled «...And With The Day Dying Light» this demo-CD was only released to a strict sum of close friends and never properly distributed. In August 2003 the recording of a new song, called «The Swansong», showed another sign of life. Unfortunately around that session the group also went through a ton of changes.

A year later - with the help of Pedro Daniel on bass, Hugo Santos on guitar and Gonçalo Correia on drums - [Before The Rain] establishes their strongest line-up to date. Following a mini-tour with Irish doomsters Mourning Beloveth in their home country of Portugal, the five musicians finally find the spark needed to pick up the composition process again and the debut full-length album finally starts taking shape. Recorded by João Bacelar and mastered at the Cutting Room Studios, in Sweden, by Thomas Eberger (famous for his work with bands like Katatonia, Opeth, Daylight Dies and label mates Process Of Guilt), this collection of six songs promise, not only to embrace the listener gently with evocative melodies, but also to punish with monolithic riffs and mesmerizing feedbacks. Both crushing and incredibly emotional, «One Day Less» is an amazing sonic journey through highs and lows - combining the beautiful acoustic textures of their beginnings with a heavy sensibility firmly rooted in the doom/death metal realm.

Process of Guilt started their existence as a band throughout the «Portraits of Regret» recordings in early 2002, having their foundations firmly based in doom/death metal music. In late 2003, the quartet enters the studio in order to record «Demising Grace», their 2nd release. This new work shows a new level in the development of their music, incorporating a more organic feel to their own vision, giving a stronger and more concise production to their sound.

Between 2003 and 2005, the considerable list of live appearances can thus be crowned with performances alongside Morgion and Mourning Beloveth.

Besides the intense live activity there was also an effort to create a new set of songs that were in line with the enduring expansion of Process of Guilt. In late December of 2005, the recordings for the full-length album «RENOUNCE» begin. The basis for the composition process behind the new songs was to build and explore themes that reflect the attitude characterizing the band's sound.

Mastered at the Cutting Room Studios, in Sweden, by Thomas Eberger (who previously worked with bands like Katatonia, Opeth and Daylight Dies), «RENOUNCE» holds seven new soundscapes that reflect the band's need of expression throughout music as a form of art.

POSÍDOM, has a special meaning, and ally that special meaning, joins up the fact of being a band formed by ex-members of LOST (drummer, bassist and guitarist) and the extinct band Dorgsenn.
The world of POSIDOM started at 2003, later we recorded one single called John Doe and already in the year 2004 we started the concerts and preparation of the demo. For reasons of force majeure, we manage to have our tracks completed only in 2006 since then POSIDOM began its musical world.
Slowly we achieve the first step in these difficult paths of national bands; we participate in Lusitanian Compilation Volume II through Metal Legions, then we join the memorial for 15 years of career to the German band Purgatory by invitation of Mr. Mihail Savochkin (who is the music publisher from Animate Recordsin). Our participation was made with the cover “Tormented Flesh”.
Already during the year 2008, we record a demo CD entitled 'A deeper kind of hate”.

In 2007, five friends from Viseu (Portugal), got together to form a Hardcore/Screamo band called PROMETHEVS. Each member of the band has different musical influences, such as: metal, punk, hardcore, emocore e mathcore. This is a band with road experience, because in the past its members made part of bands like: Set It Off, Inside These Veins, Inside Out and also And Then Finally.

The name “PROMETHEVS” was inspired on Greek mythology: “Prometheus” was the Greek hero that stole the fire (synonym of knowledge) from the Gods. Thus came the ideal name to the band’s goal: to conquer something new.

In April 2008 the band released its very expected first CD/EP entitled “From Our Hearts”: ‘We gave everything we had to this EP. Since it gave us a lot of work and effort to achieve, we decided to give this name to the song´, says Bala.

We can find five songs in it with accurate melodies in the right places, heavy sounds and vitiating rhythmic changes… And “Intro” as the first song, opens the album with a lot of mystery and “suspense”.

During this period these boys had the pleasure to share the stage with some of the best bands of this musical scene: Devil In Me (Portugal), Undeclinables (Holand), All Against The World (Portugal), Fonzie (Portugal), The Band Apart (Spain), A Breach On Heaven (Italy), My Cubic Emotion (Portugal), TNT (Portugal), Resposta Simples (Portugal), among many others.

Currently, Promethevs are working in new sounds a bit different from Ep - From Our Hearts, being these ones more technical and with more innovator melodies. They’re also working on the EP promotion, with the help of Estação Diária 96.8 (www.96.8.fm) – a local radio station – and, of course, they are on the road to promote the album.

Founded in Oliveira de Frades, Aveiro, Portugal in January 2007, Eleven Miles Apart is a mix of
fast riffs and brutal breakdowns with melodic vocals and electro samples, thus falling under genres like metalcore, emocore and post-hardcore and bands like It Dies Today, Still Remains,Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada or As I Lay Dying.
The band is rounded out by Tiago Carvalho (vocals), JoãoHenriques (guitar), Filipe Serrano (drums), Pedro Henriques (bass), Pedro Correia (guitar, vocals)and
David Marques (sampler, vocals) with ages ranging from 20 to 28.
The band has so far shared stage with important Portuguese and Internacional bands like Eternal Tango (Lux), The Maple Room (Belg), For The Glory, TwentyInchBurial,
More Than A Thousand,Fonzie (show with more than two thousand people),
Day Of The Dead, BlackSunrise, My Cubic Emotion, Ho Chi Minh, Hills Have Eyes,
One Hundred Steps and plenty other, in cities like Lisboa,
Porto, Viseu, Castelo Branco, among other,
in legendary venues such as Culto Bar in Lisboa and Hard Club and Porto-Rio in Porto.
In late June 2007 the band toured with Eternal Tango (Lux) in
their Portuguese dates. The band recorded two songs at home in February 2008 for promotion
online and had 800 plays right on the first 24h and the reviews have been very positive.
As of late, the band is airing on Estação Diária 96.8 (www.968.fm), has attendances of at least
100 people, depending on venue size; has sold-out the self-designed merchandise and has
invitations for shows from north to south Portugal and even in Spain and Luxemburg, thus being
able to play to a wider audience soon.
As for the future, the band as at the moment confirmed, with a Spanish agency,
an Iberian tour in mid-September due to the several online
requests and invites from all around Portugal and Spain;
a video-clip is set to be shot and edited in May/June 2008 and
is planning to enter studio this summer.

In late 2005 a band called A last day on earth was born.
The band was initialy composed by valter on vocals, Paulo on the drumm kit, Ze on guitar, Andre also on guitar and Batista playing bass.
In July 2006 the band recorded their first Ep in the Marduc studios with producer Marc Young,Born ,Self Control, Question and Malfunction were the result of those 3 days of recordings.
Unfortunally in September 2006 Paulo left our band.That space has been ocupied by Fábio.
The year 2007 was a great year for our band with lots of shows played along the year.
In January 2008 André decided to leave the band. We..ve allready found a suitable replacement for him and we hope to get back on the stages very soon.

Unanimously considered the most extreme and well known Portuguese Death Gore Grind outfit on the scene today the intentions of this band have always been the same... sheer ultimate brutality without compromising originality. Infamous for their awesome live shows with gore choreographies [mostly as headliner on underground festivals] and the absolutely sick covers [put even hardened eyes to a severe test], lead the band to quickly achieve a respected cult status in their native country as well as different other countries with a really strong and ever growing fan base.

Hailing from Portugal, Pitch Black began its path under the name of Withering back in December 1995. Later, in 2001, changed name to Pitch Black.

Until now, 5 music contests won (the last one being an exclusive Metal contest sponsored by Jackson Guitars), shows with The Haunted, Hatesphere, Mastodon, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, Mortician, Occult, Grave, Internal Suffering, Enthroned, Katatonia, Finntroll, Extreme Noise Terror, Prostitute Disfigurement, Tankard, Incantation, Nargaroth, Perverse, Parricide, Panchrysia, Jungle Rot, Catastrophic, Funerus, Summon, Gorerotted, Varukers, etc, Award for best 1998 Portuguese Metal demo, participation on several compilation CDs and tapes, cover song on Portuguese band Tarantula (AFM Recs) tribute album and four tours in Portugal.

Debut CD named "Thrash Killing Machine" is released on 18th March 2005 by Portuguese label Recital Recs. It gets the reader's choice award by Loud! magazine (PT) for best 2005 album, band of the year on Thrash Never Dies (Nor) website and features the top 10 best albums on Hard N' Heavy (PT) website.

Between October 2006 and February 2007, Pitch Black records the second full-length titled "Hate Division" with Hugo Andrade (Switchtense) as guest vocals after the departure of ex-front man Pedro Gouveia (Final Mercy). Recorded at Trigger Studios by Rui Danin and produced by the band and Rui Danin, the CD will be mastered at Hansen Studios (Denmark) by Jacob Hansen (Destruction, Aborted, Hatesphere, Paradox, Nightrage). It is scheduled to be released during 2008 by Recital Recs.

The "Hate Tour" (with Hugo Andrade) starts on March 2007 and goes through 2008 all over Portugal, having the band playing once again on all the top Metal festivals like Caos Emergente, Steel Warriors Rebellion, Metal GDL, Lagoa Burning Live, Thrashmania, Mangualde Hardmetal fest, among others, giving Pitch Black the opportunity to share the stage once again with German thrashers Tankard, as well as with Napalm Death, Onslaught, Obituary, Textures, Benediction, Melechesh, Angra, Sieges Even, Belphegor, Aborted, Watain, Dew-Scented, Destroyer 666, Avulsed, etc...

Spoiled Fiction has started when Tiago Câmara (Guitar) and Isidro Paixão (Drums) putted their minds together to start a new project since they left their last band Hemptylogic in 2005.

In order to find more members to the band, they launched www.myspace.com/spoiledfiction. So in the beginning of 2007 the band was finally completed by: Andre (Guitar), Pica (Vocals) and Bixo (Bass). The first song they composed was called “The Time” without knowing each other personally.

In 14/07/2007 they released their fisrt Promocd "Way to live" to help spreading the word and to make sure that their first songs that will be always remembered.

Now they are looking for shows and composing new songs in order to record a full length album in the future.

This is Mafia's current line-up was formed on July 2005: Melo (vocals), Gil (bass), Pedro (guitar) and Zena (drums). Melo played in Jonulu8 (2002) and The Cynicals (2005) and still plays the keys in Hornet and THiBB. Gil was the bass player at Lostimendeed between 2001 and 2003. Zena did bass and vocals at Full Damage and Fishbrain (www.myspace.com/fishbrainrocks). Headquartered in Coimbra, capital of cheap talk and not rock'n'roll like some say so, This is Mafia's first show ever was in October 2005 at Porto. Since then, many shows were performed until December. A short time-out from concerts to make some new songs resulted in a worthy mini tour between March and May 2006, sharing the stage with bands like My Cubic Emotion, E.A.K., Budhi, If Lucy Fell, Synead or M.O.S.H.. Later that year, This Is Mafia got back on the road until now, that Melo left the band, after playing for the first time at Festival Alta Tensão, as the first opening act for Mnemic. We are searching for a new vocals, so let us know if you can handle it!

MY CUBIC EMOTION

My Cubic Emotion were born in 2002. Their first demo,
entitled The Phantom Comes Within, was recorded in early 2004,
and leaded the band to many shows including important portuguese
venues such as Paradise Garage in Lisbon, or Le Son in Coimbra.

The year of 2005 returned the band to the studio to record
a promo single - Let's Just Be Poetic When We Die. Many live
acts were performed until 2006, when the band finally recorded
"It's Violent Juliette, Don't Look", the first EP, recorded by
Miguel Marques (Easyway, Hills Have Eyes, One Hundred Steps)
in Lisbon. After these recordings, Johnny Cursed was replaced
by Kitz on the drums!

My Cubic Emotion played over 40 times in 2007, sharing the
stage with many names such as You Should Go Ahead,
More Than a Thousand, Eternal Tango or Dapunksportif,
turning the band into an astonishing live act. 2008 began with
two mini-tours (January and May), some old songs newly recorded
(now available via myspace) and the production of the debut album.

Theyweregunshots were formed in the winter of 2002. In the beginning were only 2 members, Marco Cabaço (guitar) and João Mota (drums). After composing some songs the other musicians came in - Bruno Vitorino (guitar), Francisco Petrucci (vocals) and João Gazua (bass). Unfortunately Theyweregunshots suffered the first lost early. João Mota one of the formers had to abandon the ship. Another drummer came - João Maria. With him we recorded Lightomotive (one song demo) and gave our first concerts. But he didn’t stay for to long. So we were in 2004 with some music, ready to start giving more shows and without a drummer, once again. Oh well...
Ricardo Martins came, he learned all the songs and then we started with the shows. We shared the stage with bands like Confronto, Day of the Dead, If Lucy Fell, Larkin, Grog, Namek, Blacksunrise, One Hundred Steps, Afganistan Ye Ye’s, etc... And then we wanted to record our first Ep, but something went wrong and the band fallen apart.
So at this time Theyweregunshots were Marco Cabaço (guitar) and João Gazua (bass). They didn’t want to give it up. So once again the band started from the begining, Marco Cabaço spends the next year composing new fresh songs. Later Ita come as drummer and Jorge Ferreira as vocalist. New songs are rehearsed and then recorded into the Ep “I need you to warm, you need us to burn”. The years passed by and now we finally have our Ep and we are ready to start giving some big steps.

Backed by a solid rhythm section that seamlessly fuses their hardcore/metal/reggae/dub/hip-hop foundation with jazz, funk, and world music influences, versatile front-man and founding member Guillermo De Llera (vocals, percussion, didgeridoo) unleashes a verbal assault that mixes rap, spoken word, screams and melodic vocals with profound lyrics.

'Cast The Way' was recently made available exclusively on-line through the band’s websites and is Primitive Reason’s first release with the revamped line-up that now includes Pepe de Souza (drums) and Ricardo Barriga (guitar), both of whom recently joined De Llera and long time band-mates James Beja (bass) and Abel Beja (guitar). This self-produced ‘Limited Edition’ EP is a prelude to Primitive Reason’s 6th album which is due for international release in the fall of 2008, year in which the band will be celebrating 15 years of existence. Unlike their previous albums (which featured multi-instrumental additions such as horns, percussions, acoustic guitars, etc.), the band decided to take a more ‘back to basics’ approach for this recording. NALI BEAST

To date, Nali Beast (Valter Abreu) has recorded a demo, and three albuns available for free download on his website. His career started as a hobbie, he was always creating projects related to videogames and flash animations until the day he decided to record the lost demo ''"Heavens Nevermore"''. The original song "Heavens Nevermore" from the demo is lost and cannot be heard anymore. After this experience he continued his work through the flash animations and game mods for the famous game ''Unreal''. He was working on a single player mod for the game, and so he used MOD programs like ''PlayerPRO'' to create some musics for the soundtrack. He was enjoying working with sounds and so he decided to create his first album entitled ''"Eye Of The Beast"'' with a very industrial sound, wich later he released as a special edition with 5 bonus tracks, 2 of them were from the demo ''"Heavens Nevermore"'', and a song called ''"Guerreiros do Mar"'' wich was influenced by the portuguese tradicional music, the other 2 were edited versions from two musics of the album.

Valter stopped with all of the projects related to internet, like the flash animations, and created a new website, removing all of the old contents that weren't connected to music. He said on the news that he would stop making flash animations and that his website will only be used to show his musical work. He started to use a new program called ''Guitar Pro'' and also started playing guitar. Later, he decided to compose some tablatures and write some lyrics to make a much better album than the previous ''"Eye Of The Beast"''. This new album was entitled ''"See You In The Dark"'' and this time the genre was some kind of Experimental Death Metal with some parts of Gothic Metal influence. This album was released on 19th December 2007 and served as a preparation to his new musical style.
